The internet of things (IoT) is a term used to describe devices, such as appliances and wearable gadgets, with software, sensors, and processing ability that can connect and exchange data with other systems and devices through the internet and other communications networks. An IoT device uses a small, typically rechargeable battery for power. IoT batteries must be long-lasting and energy-dense to ensure the longevity of IoT devices. 

At Nichicon, we produce rechargeable lithium titanium-oxide (LTO) batteries that are excellent for IoT devices. These secondary, board-mounted batteries can operate in constrained spaces, like the interiors of IoT devices, and have a lifespan of more than 25,000 charge and discharge cycles for long-lasting performance.
