SCHAUMBURG, IL – Nichicon Corporation has developed the new PCL Series of chip-type conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors for industrial equipment requiring long-life and reliability. These products were first displayed at CEATAC Japan 2018.
Offering four times longer life (guaranteed to 20,000 hours) than the current products in the PCS Series (guaranteed to 5,000 hours) these new products achieve a new standard for endurance. This is achieved by using a high electrical conductive polymer as its electrolyte, enabling a low E.S.R. There is no “dry-up” phenomenon, resulting in a longer life span.
This improvement on the current PCS Series contributes to a longer product life of printed circuit boards and lower maintenance requirements. The PCL Series will be produced at Nichicon (Ohno) Corporation, Site II Factory in Fukui Prefecture. The main specifications are as follows:

- Rated voltage range: 4 V to 16 V DC
- Rated capacitance range: 22 μF to 2,700 μF
- Category temperature range: -55 °C to 105 °C
- Product dimensions: φ5×6L to φ10×12.7L (mm) (7 sizes)
- Life: 105 °C 20,000 hours guaranteed
- Terminal shape: Chip type
- Samples: From October 2018
- Mass production: From October 2018
- Planned: 500,000/month
- Sample prices: From 100 yen
