NICHICON Launches Mass Production of JUA Series Low-Resistance Electric Double Layer Capacitors

SCHAUMBURG, IL – May 29, 2019 – Nichicon Corporation has launched mass production of the JUA Series of lead-type low-resistance electric double-layer capacitors. In response to market demand, these products have longer life and can be used for smart meter backup power supplies, auxiliary power supplies, and in drive recorders. These products were first displayed at CEATAC Japan 2018.
The JUA Series offers one-fourth the resistance of current products and double the life span, now at 2,000 hours. This is helpful as a backup power supply for safety equipment, and has also been used in impact-sensing door lock systems, which automatically unlock doors upon heavy impact.
The JUA Series incorporates structural revisions that stabilize electrolytes over a long period of time. This product also reduces voltage drop during discharge, enables parts miniaturization, and thus allows high instantaneous output. The capacitors can also be used for portable game devices and storage servers as backup power supplies, enabling maintenance-free operation and lower environmental impacts. The JUA Series is produced at Nichicon (Ohno) Corporation, Site III Factory in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
