Nichicon Expands SLB Series with High-Temperature Model (80°C)
11/13/2025
Background
Since its debut in 2019, the SLB Series has become one of Nichicon’s best-selling products, with over 90 million units shipped for use in communication and IoT devices. As IoT and big data applications expand, demand for reliable, long-life power sources has grown. Nichicon developed this new model to meet market needs for batteries that can operate in both extreme cold and high heat.
Features
By analyzing heat degradation mechanisms and optimizing the electrode foil and electrolyte, Nichicon improved thermal resistance and achieved outstanding cycle life. In testing at 80°C (20C rate, 100% DOD), the battery maintained 80% capacity after about 19,000 cycles (10 mAh sample). Four size variations are available, from 0.8 mAh to 130 mAh, providing flexibility for applications in IoT devices, industrial equipment, and outdoor infrastructure. These long-life batteries also reduce maintenance needs, supporting sustainability goals.Specifications
